A Card for all Reasons (as opposed to ‘A Man for all Seasons’)

Dear Readers (new and old), In the hope that I may hereby cater for all possible tastes, 3 electronic Christmas cards are appended below: theological; geopolitical; and personalised. I trust that at least one of the attached will be appreciated. xmas2013v1 xmas2013v2 xmas2013v3 PDFs (high resolution and with URL links) xmas2013v1 xmas2013v2 xmas2013v3 Thanks for your interest in this blog; and/or your passionate advocacy for the issues it raises. Early in the New Year, I look forward to sharing with you some good news (which will also explain why my blogging activity has reduced in recent months). Rick.

About Rick Altman

Possibly just another 'Climate Cassandra' crying 'Wolf' in cyberspace. However, the moral of the old children's story is that the Wolf eventually turned up!

Thanks (to anonymous fellow-hiker), Rachel..! Are you back in NZ now? Either way, knowing how anxious you were about this, I hope you will settle down quickly.

Still in the UK. We don’t leave until the end of January and I’m hoping that Icelandic volcano you were telling me about will erupt sometime before then grounding all flights for a good year. 🙂

Oh well, “Carpe Diem”, as some Roman geezer once said. I hope you enjoy Christmas and New Year in Yorkshire (the original “God’s Country” – before Westerners settled the Antipodes). If you do get stuck here, just buy a box set of ‘Lord of the Rings’ and ‘The Piano’ to watch on DVD. Cheers, Rick.

  4. Season’s greetings to you Rick, keep up the blogging; and to the Mithraians, happy Mithmas; to the pagans, a happy solstice; to the capitalists, a new ipad; to the Romans, a debauched Saturnal; and to all the DIY home-builders, a dry holiday! [N.B. I have got to get back on the roof to finish the slating given the seasonal, biblical, rain]. Best. Jules

Thanks Jules. Given that God has promised not to flood the Earth again (i.e. Genesis 9:15* – the basis of Senator James Inhoffe’s [R-OK] ideological blindness to the reality of sea level rise), the current rainfall may seem ‘Biblical’ but, in reality, it is mostly anthropogenic. 😉 * “…and I will remember my covenant with you and with all living creatures. Never again will the floodwaters destroy all life.” (New Living Translation)
