Happy New Reality from Michael Ruppert

For bringing former LAPD narcotics investigator Michael C. Ruppert to my attention, I am indebted to my Sister and Nephew. As Wikipedia points out, having been appalled by the reality of corruption within the CIA over 20 years ago, Ruppert has most recently been trying to help people to face up to the consequences of denying human responsibility for environmental problems for over 10 years. Indeed, if I had been fairly consistently ignored for over 10 years like Ruppert has, I think I would be both angry and upset. Thus, I guess, it should not be that surprising that in the 80-minute video appended below, Ruppert exhibits both of these emotions. However, what is most striking is the fact that he is almost entirely calm and rational (although there are quite a few instances of the F-word towards the end). Michael Ruppert’s message is very similar to that of Jared Diamond, which I summarised nearly a year ago. Indeed, Diamond’s 2005 book – Collapse: How Societies Choose to Fail or Succeed – may well have been the inspiration for this You Tube video – of Ruppert’s 2009 film – entitled simply Collapse. A year ago, I was particularly impressed by Diamond because of his background as a mining consultant – and inclined to take notice of his warnings from history and professional experience as a result. Today, I am equally – if not more – impressed by Ruppert; and find his grasp of a whole realm of issues – politics, history, science, economics – incredibly impressive. I spent Christmas with my Mum and my Sister; but returned from my trip with the cynical words of my Sister – “every generation of humans has included people who thought they were living in apocalyptic times” – ringing in my ears. Totally unprompted by me, watching this video has made her question her own cynicism. So, if you have ever been tempted by such cynicism and unwarranted optimism; the belief that you can – or should – second-guess the opinions of the vast majority of genuine experts; and/or tempted to trust people who are very clearly motivated to reject science in favour of politics, economics or ideology – please watch this video. It could well be the most significant things you will ever do. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G7WLCEUi7vk

About Rick Altman

Possibly just another 'Climate Cassandra' crying 'Wolf' in cyberspace. However, the moral of the old children's story is that the Wolf eventually turned up!

I first came across Ruppert about a decade ago in the wake of 9/11, that event aside Ruppert’s Crossing the Rubicon: The Decline of the American Empire at the End of the Age of Oil is well worth the effort reading. I have had a copy here since the book was published. Note the nearby presence of David Ray Griffin’s The New Pearl Harbor: Disturbing Questions About the Bush Administration and 9/11. D R G has written a number of follow ups including some dissecting and rebuttal of the official ‘9/11 Commission Report’ (also copies of all these books here) a commission that was set up to fail. “Tin-foil hat”? Moi? No way, just a true sceptic; one immersed in history who knows how badly history can be distorted, Nelson’s ‘BAltman Legend’ being but one example.

Sorry for the delay in my responding, Lionel. I have managed to break my laptop’s keypad by spilling coffee on it. I noticed Wikipedia mentioned 9/11 and began to wonder… Your comments seem to confirm my suspicion that Ruppert holds some interesting views regarding the atrocity. However, I really do hope he is not among those who think the planes were holograms and/or the buildings were brought down by controlled demolition.

…the buildings were brought down by controlled demolition.

But, and I don’t really wish to set this hare running here, that is the only way in which they could have come down as seen. If you understood structures, how those towers were built, research apart I saw them before finished, how huge steel structures would not collapse from fuel initiated fire alone, understood a little about materials and temperature, aviation matters then you would smell the same big rat that I do. Don’t forget I have worked in the aviation engineering and operations field and worked many materials including those requiring various degrees of heating. Just consider some aircraft carriers survived fierce fuel and explosive fires during WW2 and after, HMS Illustrious and USS Forrestal being just two. If you don’t agree, then you now know what to read. As for the holograms with that I agree, but other visual and distraction tricks were used. Somebody learned much from magicians that is for sure, much smoke and many mirrors deployed that day.

Lionel – Your dogged pursuit of Richard Lindzen – to make him accountable for his misrepresentation and/or distortion of science as a result of ideological prejudice – is an inspiration to me. However, I am afraid I cannot say the same about your conclusions regarding 9/11. Whilst I accept I have not read as much around the subject as you have done, I think the problem here too is prejudice – If you go looking for a conspiracy you will always find one. The two things that I have found most instructive on the 9/11 front are as follows: — The original 9/11 Conspiracy Road Trip programme, which you simply must watch if you have not done so already; and — Peter Sinclair’s post on the subject on the 11th anniversary last year, which explains how 9/11 was a consequence of incompetence and selective blindness (but was not a conspiracy). George W Bush and Dick Cheney can be blamed for very many things that are wrong in our World today – and I am horrified that our global political system is so badly broken that it was capable of being manipulated and controlled by people like them. However, despite the contempt I feel for them, you will never convince me that they orchestrated the deaths of nearly 3000 people in order to justify their invasion of Iraq… because there is a much simpler explanation – The whole thing was the result of people not seeing what they did not want to see – as is the case today with ongoing climate change denial…

So how can you then declare that my take on this is based upon prejudice. Sorry but as you acknowledge little study of this topic then your arguments, are also based upon selective blindness. Sinclair’s story is based around the August 6 2001 WH briefing, the belated reporting of which is aimed at showing the WH as being simply negligent rather than complicit. In reality this is another bit of smoke and mirrors to cover the activities of the Machiavellian Cheney, and his close associates, who were using Bush as a tool. Hence Bush’s extraordinary performance in a Sarasota elementary school that morning, and also that of his aides. Have you ever heard of ‘False Flag Attacks’ e.g. ‘Operation Northwoods’? Besides there was more to the motivation than simply invading Iraq which took awhile to be bolted on, recall that this happened the day after Rumsfeld announced a multi-trillion dollar hole in the defence fund. Hold this in your head too, the section of the Pentagon struck that day was involved in that budgeting. Also large sections of WTC1, WTC2 and WTC7 held offices directly involved in financial management and oversight. WTC7 had also been converted into Rudy Giuliani’s command centre so why did he need another point in NY to HQ other excelsiors going on that day. Note also Giuliani’s strange behaviour and speech – indicating he had foreknowledge of the destruction of the building despite the fact that no such buildings had ever before been destroyed by fire, see below. Consider also these points. No steel framed high rise buildings had collapsed prior to that day, and none since, then three came down in one day? Steel frameworks have the ability to wick away much heat. Try it yourself find an old tube steel swing or something and hold one corner whilst another person plays an oxyacetylene torch on an opposite corner, or put on corner into a metal tray and poor in kerosene and set fire. Heck I suppose I was wasting my time cutting steel plates with oxyacetylene gear when I could have just gone into the hangar, drained some fuel out of an aircraft and used that to melt the plate. What a fool I was doing it the hard way! Most people were for a long time, and many still are, only aware of the destruction of two for the destruction of the third WTC7 was omitted from news broadcasts and follow up stories for a long time following the day after. Ask yourself why. The NIST report on the destruction of WTC7 is a total joke. If you don’t know why then there is some reading to be done. Study how quickly the towers disintegrated and also the direction much of the debris took in the processes. Huge pieces of structure were seen to be blasted hundreds of yards away and with an upward trajectory immediately on leaving the towers. WTC2 South Tower – second struck, first to destruct, notice how the upper section above the ‘strike’ zone first toppled sideways before exploding – some fire effect that! Moments before this happened one of the firefighter team leaders was heard reporting that with another couple of lines the fire could be doused. The disintegration quickly followed. How did the passport of one of the purported terrorists survive a fireball from a WTC tower strike to be found in the adjacent area in the hours following? That demands a miracle. There were many strange aviation occurrences that day and with several defence exercises being conducted on the same day, Northwoods springs to mind here again. Being at home recovering from a heart attack I was following this on TV as it was happening and amongst the things I noticed were the reports from amongst them BBC reporters describing explosions at various stages both early on, soon after the ‘strikes’ and the same later in the day before WTC7 came down the destruction of which looked exactly like a controlled demolition, I have seen many, and this is exactly the point raised by Dan Rather at the time. Rather’s segment, and Dan himself, vanished from the news channels soon after never to be seen, officially, again. Once again NIST is batting from a losing wicket on grounds of physics and visual evidence. I puzzled about what I was seeing and didn’t go looking for a conspiracy theory and it was only when I discovered others had formed the same questions that I started digging deeper and have been following since very early on. As with the Lindzen research, I have folders full of stuff. To be sure there is much speculation about many of the events of that day but some alleged happening belie the laws of physics and its adjuncts in metallurgy and aerodynamics. Aircraft such as those alleged to have hit the Pentagon, WTC1 and WTC2, the later in particular, could not have been flown in the way alleged without breaking up in the air before reaching target. Aircraft required to fly through the transonic region at low level need to be strong and 7x7s would have become nothing more than a group of aircraft components moving in close formation, for a short time only at that. This is only the tip of the ice berg and one reliable source of information is Pilots for 9/11 Truth, avoid the general chat areas unless you have bags of time, stick to the clearly marked factual areas, the moderator there does not tolerate pure unfounded speculation. Another source is Architects and Engineers for 911 Truth. Consider also the testimony of each of these experts in their field: Patriots Question 911. As I remarked earlier I had not intended to set this hare running but you have goaded me by insinuating prejudice, if knowledge is prejudice then so be it. As you have found this hare has turned into a can of worms.

O.o… this thread could run and run… but I can’t resist sticking my oar. While I, too, find it hard to credit the thought of elected leaders of a ‘civilised’ country having the barefaced gall to murder 3,000 (I had thought the number was nearer 5,000?) of their own countrymen, such people do ‘orchestrate the deaths’ of a great many more than that on an ongoing basis. And to do so in the name of ‘freedom’ is sick. And meanwhile, back on planet Eaarth, another 25,000 — 30,000 human beings died yesterday; and a similar number will do so today, of causes that would be entirely preventable if homo fatuus brutus could get off its collective behind and stop behaving like a playground full of spoiled children.
